In this presentation ways to midigate pesticide effect on pollinators will be discused. We will focus on application timing/methods, lists of 'safer' active ingredients, pesticide alternatives, direct and indirect effects to bees and broods, pollinators besides honey bees, and the results of field research vs the label.

Dani Sackett, Lead Plant Health Care at Bachman's Nursery
Dani comes from a background of hunters. Not the ones you're thinking of. From a young age her eye was trained to find the individual in a landscape. Morel mushroom hunting every spring and agate hunting in gravel in the summer and fall gave her a chance to observe the natural world around he while classifying the normal from the extraordinary. Who knew this would be the exact skills needed to be a good scout for Plant Diseases and Pests. She has worked in the Industry for almost a decade in Plant Heath and Invasive Species Management having been with University research, government surveys, private industry consulting, and now working at the Bachmans Nursery in MN in Plant Health and Crop Protection. In her spare time she is a Dog foster for Second Hand Hounds and the MN Basset Hound Rescue, and does the lights/sound for local theatre productions.
