Back2Basics: Diagnosing Plant Problems
Monday, July 17 • 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM

Plant Scientist and Founder and CEO of NYC Plant Help (https://nycplantdoctor.com/) Christopher Satch will be taking you through the fundamentals of plant disease - the disease triangle, what causes disease and pests, and how to prevent disease and pests. This session is intended to be general, but will focus on pests and disease in interior environments. This session is excellent for folks starting their careers in horticulture, but still has something for veterans to learn as well, as we dive into the science of disease.

Back2Basics: Common Pests, Diseases, and Treatments in Urban Environments
Monday, July 17 • 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Urban environments carry high risk, but also high reward if you can master how to keep both your plants and your clients happy. This session will teach you how to combat pests and diseases in the toughest of urban environments. With examples from New York City, attendees will be brought through the unique pitfalls of planting in urban homes, offices, rooftops, and alleyway gardens. You will learn the secrets on how to avoid pest and disease in planters, gardens, and displays properly - as well as selecting the right plant that won't die in the most hostile environments.
