This session examines the pros and cons of each method, taking into account both the end-use of your hemp and also your location - including climate and soil type.

Session: Reality of Taking on Field Hemp Production - Preparation to Harvest

Monday, July 12  11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

This session presents a broad overview of raised bed (field) hemp production for CBD such as bed prep, plastic choice, and preplant fertilizers. Learn the importance of reducing transplant shock, the best nutrient management for organic and conventional growers, and how to scout for disease and insect problems. Lastly, we will touch on the importance of and process for monitoring phytochemical levels.

    Krystal Snyder 

    Extension Specialist at Penn State University Extension 

    Krystal Snyder is a Horticulture Extension educator based in Northeast PA focusing on greenhouse floriculture, hydroponics, green industry and industrial hemp. She joined Penn State Extension in March of 2019. Before joining Penn State Extension, Krystal worked as a technical specialist and was an adjunct professor at Delaware Valley University. Krystal holds a BS in Horticulture from Delaware Valley University.
