    Richard Foster

    Richard FosterChairman of the Board

    Richard Foster established Group Interest Enterprise Publishing Company with the acquisition of Pest Control Technology magazine in 1980. Under Richard’s direction, GIE has grown from one publication into a leading marketing and communications organization in seventeen industries. His remarkable guidance through three decades of successful expansion has given GIE Media, Inc. the solid foundation that continues to ensure market leadership across all industries.

    Chris Foster

    Chris FosterPresident and CEO

    Chris Foster rejoined GIE Media as President & COO in May, 2005 after spending nine years away holding senior positions with InsightExpress LLC, the largest online market research company globally, as VP of Technology and Product Development, and Attachmate Corporation running the Global Network Technology Practice. Prior to that, Chris has worked at GIE Media in various roles from Controller to General Manager, having started with GIE Media directly out of college. He holds degrees in International Business Administration and International Marketing from Heidelberg, Germany.

    Dan Moreland

    A 30-year veteran of the pest management industry, Dan Moreland joined GIE Media in 1980 shortly after the company was launched by CEO Richard Foster. An award-winning journalist, Dan also serves as Publisher of PCT magazine’s sister publication, Quality Assurance & Food Safety. Currently publisher of PCT magazine and executive vice-president of GIE Media, Moreland graduated with honors from Kent State University, where he earned a degree in Journalism with a specialty in News. He is a member of Pi Chi Omega, a professional pest control fraternity, as well as the Press Club of Cleveland.

    James Keefe

    Jim Keefe joined GIE Media in 1991. After a series of promotions, he was promoted to Publisher of Recycling Today and its affiliate publications in 1995. There, Jim was instrumental in the development and launch of Construction & Demolition Recycling, Storage & Destruction Business, and Recycling Today Global Edition magazines. He has also assisted in developing GIE's events business through the formation of the Paper Recycling Conference, Paper Recycling Conference Europe, and the C&D Recycling Forum. Currently Group Publisher of our recycling business and Executive Vice President of GIE Media, Jim is a graduate of Ohio University with a degree in Finance and concentration of study in interpersonal communications.

    Mike DiFranco

    Mike DiFrancoGroup Publisher

    Mike DiFranco is the group publisher of GIE Media’s industrial group that includes Aerospace Manufacturing and Design, Today’s Medical Developments, Today’s Motor Vehicles and Today’s Energy Solutions. Mike began his career in the manufacturing industry in 1998 working in sales for Motch Corporation and Cone Blanchard. He then moved to the publishing side of the manufacturing industry, joining the American Machinist and Welding Design and Fabrication sales teams with Penton Publishing. In 2004, Mike joined GIE Media as a regional sales manager for the company’s largest title, Lawn & Landscape. A few years later, Mike was instrumental in forming GIE Media’s industrial group by co-founding its first title, Today’s Medical Developments. Today the group has expanded to its current four titles, of which Mike is group publisher.

    Jim Gilbride

    Jim Gilbride was hired by GIE Media in 2004 as Account Manager for the Lawn & Landscape Media Group. In 2005, he transitioned to west coast Account Manager for the PCT Media Group where he was a key factor in driving sales growth until 2009. In June of 2009, shortly after the GIE acquisition of Branch Smith Publishing, Jim was promoted to National Sales Manager of the portfolio which included the brands of Greenhouse Management, Nursery Management, and Garden Center. He was promoted to Associate Publisher in 2010. Since then Jim has overseen the continued growth of the media group launching the Produce Grower and Ornamental Breeder brands. He has also overseen the launch of several cutting edge industry events. Jim was promoted to Publisher of the Ornamental Media Group in 2012 and currently oversees all operations for the media group and related brands.

    Pat Jones

    Pat Jones is publisher of Golf Course Industry magazine. He is a veteran green industry communicator and marketer who previously held senior positions with the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, Barkley-Evergreen Public Relations, Advanstar Communications and his own company, Flagstick LLC. Jones is an award-winning writer and a regular guest speaker at industry events. He earned degrees in journalism and liberal arts and sciences from the University of Kansas in 1984.

    Marco Urbanic

    Marco joined the GIE Media team in the fall of 2012 and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of corporate development including websites, digital magazines, iSIRC circulation software, and Target Market Intelligence (TMI). He has been involved with software development since his graduation from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1990. Prior to coming to GIE, Marco held the position of Director of Consulting Services for Cleveland based New Media, Inc. In late 1998, he ventured out on his own as an independent contractor and provided project management services to clients such as Bridgestone, Centimark Corporation, Acero Inc., and Patrick-Douglas.

    GIE Data Solutions was formed in 2014 as a direct result of the development of the software systems iSirc ™ and TMI ™ by GIE Media’s software development team. Both systems specifically address the needs of the publishing industry, and are available by license through GIE Data Solutions.
