John Palmer is a Board Certified Master Arborist® recognized by the International Society of Arboriculture, Consulting Arborist, Tree Risk Assessment Qualified by ISA, and a retired landscape company owner. His areas of expertise include proper pruning and planting practices, young tree training, tree biology, and healthy root system development, with a focus on trees in urban and construction environments.

He is an author and speaker on subjects including Advanced Aboriculture, The Urban Forest Myth?, Deforestation By Design®, and Trees, Science, and Sustainability. He trains Arborists, Nursery and Landscape professionals, Engineers, and Landscape Architects on proper standards and BMP's of tree care.
