With more than 25 years in the horticulture industry, Jonathan Pedersen brings sales, marketing, operations, and retail experience to his role as CEO of Monrovia. An industry leader and passionate plantsman, he is focused on bringing Monrovia into the future by balancing its legendary craftsmen techniques and culture with innovative new approaches to plant growth and production.
Pedersen brings that depth of experience and a fresh perspective to Monrovia and the industry as a whole. He is responsible for some of the most significant plant introductions in the country in the past several years. A New Zealand native, he travels across the U.S. and the world, finding and working with top plant breeders. His goal is to provide the best new varieties to North American gardeners. His expert eye seeks out plants that provide solutions including longer bloom time, brighter colors, and improved hardiness and disease resistance. Jonathan’s passion for creating beautiful gardens drives his focus on discovering, growing, and improving the availability of the best plants.
