    Dr. Brian Jackson

    Associate Professor & Director at North Carolina State University 

    Dr. Brian E. Jackson is an Associate Professor and Director of the Horticultural Substrates Laboratory at NC State University. Brian is a Professor and Director of the Horticultural Substrates Laboratory at NC State University. He currently holds an 85% Teaching and 15% Research Appointment. Brian teaches 4 to 5 courses per year and his research program focuses on the development and utilization of soilless growing media in horticultural crop production systems. Brian writes and speaks frequently about various topics and current developments in the growing media industry. He also works very closely with the Growing Media industry in North America and around the globe to develop new soil products for the professional and retail market.

    Welcome to Horticultural Science at NC State
    Hi and welcome to NC State's Department of Horticultural Science. My name is Lis Meyer and I'm a Senior Lecturer here. I'm also an alum of this department. So right now I'm standing in a garden area that was installed and designed by our students in a class here. And what I'd like to do now is just take you on a short tour of some of the spaces you'll [students will] be using during your time here. This is Kilgore Hall it's the main building for Horticultural Science at NC State so you'll be spending a lot of time here.
