In this session, you will learn how to optimize your greenhouse lighting and implement light mitigation and blackout screen strategies to effectively manage the climate and cultivation of your hemp crop. This is a Hemp Conference at Cultivate on-demand session. Access to this session is included in your Hemp Conference registration.
Level: Fundamental Type: Growing
This session will focus on the integration of screening and supplemental LED lighting to ensure quality production, while complying with light “pollution” regulations being implemented by a growing number of local municipalities. Greenhouse operations are being tasked with installing light screening to ensure regulatory compliance, which may require you to manage your greenhouse climate and modify crop inputs differently. When compared to HPS lighting, LEDs put out significantly lower levels of radiant heat, which decreases evaporative moisture buildup, and can bring about greater climate stability. Learn how the two technologies—screening and supplemental LED lighting—can be harmoniously integrated without compromising your production goals.
